The Japanese media company states that the company is grateful for the support it has received over the years. Crypton has released a statement following the lifting of this ban. Any other means of monetization is again, strictly prohibited. However, monetization of Vocaloid content is limited to the YouTube Partner Program. That said, the ban on the monetization of independently created Vocaloid content has officially lifted. There is currently no indication that this will apply to creators outside of Japan.
A full list of what is and isn’t allowed for monetization has been uploaded to the Piapro website. This includes uploading content that is otherwise deemed offensive, or videos that may be seen as misleading. The company strictly prohibits any content that could potentially damage the brand of these characters. Crypton Future Media will keep an eye on what creators will be uploading to YouTube.
However, this doesn’t mean that creators will have free range on what they can create.
Creators will also be able to upload content featuring the voice software for Kaito, Meiko, and Kagamine Len and Rin.
